One Train Rail Dream

Today we rode to Baden-Baden.
Cuckoo clocks, ham, cherry cakes,
Through the Black Forest trodden.
Pfenning, couple of Deutsche Marks,

express or regular, Nuremberg, Austria
Flammkuchen, Palatschinke, Gundel.
Going from end to end, Europa.
Europa train need bed trundle.

Munich, Zurich, what to eat and see today?
Bi annual, annual payments gone?
Beautiful dream of what could have been, okay?
Achaea, politicians, greed put us in our zone.

Oh Germany, Oh Germany.
Futurism and sci-fi wasted.
Those are only a memory.
American Millions barely tasted.

WIKI *2002 Deutsche Marks and pfenning.
Currency of Germany
1 Mark = 100 pfenning.
Before the Euro.

Personal Aside: Prior to World Business Powers
taking over Europe and many other currencies and
countries of the world to set up their petty kingdoms.
Stay out of their direct paths.

Greed is such an awful thing to watch as it plays out 😦

You don’t want to taste our poison millions, believe me. A lovely lament for what’s past, what’s right and indictment of what’s wrong.

This is terrific– “seaside author” so very observant and I love the place names/town names– they lend such richness to this very good, vibrant poem. xxj
