Walk The Chalk Mark

just like the gun went off shooting

her heart was his; he hit the mark

his warm regards were oh, so soothing

the blast so intense she’s an easy mark

blood soaring her last; shot in the dark

soothes her soul he did; she remarked

her dream to come true; they embark

life excites cars then houses, yes “Clark”,

Kent has finally arrived, of course a lark!

Together a great team, finally him laughing

families alike each other, all very smart.

inspiring she picks up paint brush dabbling

totally loved she help him with crafting

generous he always was from the start

more than a year he starts a new drafting

the second shot was quick and off the mark.

reflections through the glass, a re-staffing

images up on the extra large screen, park

pain and blood from her soul starts gagging

unhappy one perfectly normal, he’s a snark

the tears from those bullets last, a yearling

time passes her quickly she is the dark

her flaw so disastrous? No past quibbling

soul intact, blood flowing, at her disembark

Wow– what a journey– so sharp and lyrical at once. Wonderful. K.

There seems to be happiness and love mixed with some dark “snarki-ness”…doesn’t seem like this was a match made in heaven…

Seems like a relationship that could have been better.. The lightheaded rhymes combined with the subject matter create quite a special effect.

Yes those Clark Kent types have a bad reputation. Always zipping into a superman suit and flying off somewhere..One should never date a man who wears fancy dress or bitches about his former girl friends. Everyone knows that:) Entertaining and interesting poem .

That is quite a story! Sometimes ‘dreams come true’ eventually change to nightmares.

Really liked the style and flow to this, enhances the story-telling. Sometimes words are the harshest weapons, and wound deeper and hurt more than any bullet could. I like this a lot. Reread a couple of times to get the full effect. Not as light as the first appears. A thinking person’s poem.

Being hit and suffer once is bad enough. It is very painful when history repeats itself.

Well I guess she had enough of his snarkiness and left. Good that she ‘disembarked’.

Perhaps we reap what we sow, or maybe we project our inadequacies onto those closest to us. We deserve happiness, but do we truly believe that in the darkest corners of our psyche? Nice rhyme-ride; thanks.
